Day 20 of the Olympic torch relay

With 50 days to go until the start of the Olympic Games, 67 Torchbearers carred the Olympic Flame on the latest stage of the journey (day 20). The first Torchbearer of the day was Thomas Haighton, 28, from County Antrim, who dedicates most of his time to caring for adults with learning disabilities. He started with the Flame in Newcastle, County Down.  Television presenter Patrick Kielty, 41, then carried the Flame in Dundrum. He has been involved in charity work for a number of years, including playing in UNICEF’s annual Soccer Aid football matches. Television presenter Zoe Salmon, from Bangor, also carried the Flame. Zoe has been a supporter of the Tickled Pink breast cancer charity for several years, hosting and providing support to events. One of the day's highlights was the Flame crossing Lough Neagh by boat. Eorann O’Neil, 16, from Crumlin,  nominated for his dedication to swimming, carried the Flame as it made the crossing. The Flame was taken to the water again at the end of the day, when it left Northern Ireland on a ferry, heading for the Scottish port of Stranraer. The Flame travelled through the following communities: Newcastle, Dundrum, Clough, Downpatrick, Crossgar, Saintfield, Ballynahinch, Templepatrick, Antrim, Ballyronan, Magherafelt, Ballymena and Moorfields, before arriving in Scotland.
