What happened on Day 15 of the London 2012 Torch Relay

Day 15 saw the Flame visit the Isle of Man before arriving in Northern Ireland.
The Olympic Flame was flown from Liverpool John Lennon airport by British Airways to Ronaldsway Airport in the Isle of Man, on ‘The Firefly’. Thirty-eight Torchbearers then carried the Flame around the island through Douglas, Laxey, Onchan, Ballasalla and Castletown.
The first Torchbearer of the day was Leanne Harper, 26, from the Isle of Man, who was nominated through the LOCOG public nomination campaign for her strength in battling Cystic Fibrosis and her efforts in raising money for research by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

Leanne done a lap of the athletics track with the Flame at the National Sports Centre in Douglas, before handing over to Victoria Karran, 36, who is also from Isle of Man.

Other Torchbearers today included three-time World Enduro Champion, David Knight, 34, and top British snowboarder Zoe Gillings, 26, who is from the Isle of Man. Zoe carried the Flame in Castletown.

Over the course of the day, the Flame travelled by various modes of transport, including on a motorbike, on a horse tram and on the Manx Electric Railway.

Following its visit to the Isle of Man, the Flame was then flown by British Airways to Belfast on ‘The Firefly’, where there was a ceremony to welcome it to Northern Ireland.
