Olympic Torch relay review of day 60

On Day 60 the Olympic Flame visited Seven Sisters Cliffs and Tonbridge Castle.

The Olympic Torch Relay took in some of the dramatic coastline of the South East as it travelled from Brighton and Hove to Hastings today, covering 108.86 miles.

Begining its journey at the pavilion Gardens, Brighton, 137 Torchbearers carried the Olympic Flame during day 60 of the Olympic Torch Relay.

The first Torchbearer of the day was Zachary Narvaez, 17 from Brighton and Hove.

Zach was nominated for being an outstanding pupil at Dorothy Stringer School, setting up a charity to raise money for hospices and cancer research and is Chair of the school council.

Along the way, the Flawilt travelled past the Seven Sisters Cliffs, with Beachy Head providing a spectacular coastal backdrop.

The Flame also visited Tonbridge Castle where double Olympic gold medallist, Dame Kelly Holmes, and Frank Verge, a Torchbearer in the 1948 Torch Relay, carried it through the grounds of the Castle.

The day's Torchbearers also included comedian Eddie Izzard, who has run an incredible 43 marathons, raising money to support people who live incredibly tough lives, and former stunt sportsman Eddie Kidd, who was injured during a stunt.

The Relay travelled through the following communities: Brighton and Hove, Crawley, Copthorne, Felbridge, East Grinstead, Tunbridge Wells, Crowborough, Lewes, Eastbourne, Pevensey, Bexhill on Sea, St Leonards on Sea, Hastings.
