Day 16 must-see Olympic moments:
Super-heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua could give Britain an explosive end to their most successful Olympic Games in over a century, while the US basketball team are sure to produce a spectacular finale.
BOXING (14:15/15:15 BST):
Fred Evans, men's welterweight; Anthony Joshua, men's super-heavyweight
European welterweight champion Evans is already only the second Welshman to win an Olympic medal, having secured bronze, but only Serik Sapiyev of Kazakhstan stands between him and gold. The boxing programme will end with the super-heavyweight final between Britain's Joshua and Italy's defending Olympic champion, Roberto Cammarelle.
The end of the MODERN PENTATHLON (08:00-18:50 BST): Mhairi Spence
Spence is the sport's world champion, winning gold ahead of team-mate and bronze medallist Samantha Murray in Rome four months ago. Picking a favourite in modern pentathlon is tough, though - the sport is so unpredictable (particularly the showjumping, where riders are paired with horses at random) that the 26-year-old Scot will need to rely on a good start in the fencing and gain momentum from there.
BASKETBALL (14:50 BST): The United States
The US might not be quite the "Dream Team" of 1992 but Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and the rest have proved far too good for anyone in London up to now. Spain provide the final opposition, as they did in Beijing four years ago, and in Pau Gasol they have "one of the top five players in the world", according to US coach Mike Krzyzewski.
ATHLETICS (11:00 BST): Scott Overall
Overall worked as an assistant in a running shop until he secured his Olympic place by virtue of finishing fifth in his first marathon in Berlin last year. He is unlikely to match good friend and former training partner Mo Farah's medal-winning exploits but believes he can be competitive.
MOUNTAIN BIKE (12:30-14:00 BST): Liam Killeen
Killeen will compete in his third Olympic cross-country mountain bike event, hoping to improve on fifth in Athens and seventh in Beijing. France's two-time defending Olympic champion Julien Absalon will try to become the first cyclist to win three Olympic titles in a specific event.
