The Heineken Cup Rugby Union Fixtures have been announced

The Ospreys v Benetton Treviso will kick off this year's Heineken Cup at the Liberty Stadium in Swansea on Friday, 12th of October.

The reigning RaboDirect PRO12 Champions will be the first team in action on the opening night of Europe's biggest club competition, with Irish provident side Ulster also playing Castres Olympique on the same Friday night evening.


The following day (Saturday 13th of October) the Scarlets face a tough trip to central France to face ASM Clermont Auvergne.

The star-studded Clermont side features the likes of Wales full back Lee Byrne, French internationals Aurélien Rougerie, Morgan Parra & Wesley Fofana as well as All Black wing sensation Sitiveni Sivivatu.

On the following day (Sunday 14th of October Cardiff Blues start their quest for a second successive Heineken Cup quarter-final against English Premier giants Sale Sharks.

Some Round Two Highlights:
Round 2 sees the Scarlets play on Saturday against the current Heineken Cup holders, Irish Giants Leinster.

Leicester Tigers will be looking to get one over their old rivals the Ospreys at Welford Road.

Big spending Toulon head to the Welsh capital to play the Cardiff Blues.

Some Round three highlights:
The French giants and former Champions Toulouse take on the Osprey In France.
Former Champions Munster take on the Saracens in Ireland.

Some round four highlights:
The return fixture of Ospreys V Toulouse, this time at the Liberty in Wales.
Current Champions Leinster against the Star studded Clermont Auvergne in Ireland.

The dates of the 1st four rounds of fixtures have been confirmed by ERC but the dates for the final two rounds of pool action will be finalised at a later date.

Those matches will be played on the weekend of January 11th and 18th. The fixtures will be the reverse fixtures from rounds 1 and 2.
