Yesterday evening the Opening Ceremony kicked London 2012 off in an amazing manor that went on way in to the early hours of the morning but now all eyes turn to the different sporting events. There's no small build ip as we get straight in to the action with no leas than 19 different sports starting today and there will be gold medals awarded and won in Archery, Cycling (the road race with Mark Cavendish) Shooting, Fencing, Judo, Swimming & Weightlifting.
The first champion is likely to receive their medal at the Royal Artillery Barracks, where events this morning includes the men's 10m Air Pistol & the women's 10m Air Rifle shooting competitions.
World champion Leonid Eskimos from Russia, is one of the stars to watch in the men's shooting event, whilst Siling Ye from China will be ones of the stars in the women's event. Siling will no doubt be hoping to repeat the world record she set when winning gold at the 2010 World Championships.

The first of the road events is on today. The men's Olympic Cycling Road Race sees athletes travel through 6 different London boroughs, 4 Royal Parks and a large part of Surrey.
